Review by Kakoo for Bunkum Records:
We were very happy to get some new Aka Aka material, and wow! We’re
gonna spin this one a lot ! “4 Fauste fur ein Halleluja” is a crunchy,
linear yet not boring piece of teck-house drawn towards a sample of
the balinese Kecak Dance shot by Ron Fricke in his awesome movie
“Baraka”. The guys spiced it up with a stunning and driving bassline,
adding some funny slaps (and fencing ?) samples. The result is massive
and pure Bunkum. We love it and we have no doubt this tune will put
some irie atmosphere on the dancefloors.
The remix has been entrusted to slovakian newcomer duo Sensoreal as
winners of a contest set by Stil vor Talent, and their work have been
choosen amongst over 150 remixes. They’re delivering a deeper and
quite beautiful version with subtle touches of percussions. A really
nice job, super tool for some lazy afterhours, drinking a fresh
cocktail surrounded with bikini girls.
Next is another original/remix combo titled “Sie nannten ihn Mücke”
which is a movie featuring the one and only Bud Spencer. The original
is a fat and thrilling tune based on a smart building evolving
constantly. The remix is another gem by team on fire Niconé (Alexander
Gerlach and Sascha Hirtenfellner) pumping the stuff up with repetitive
glitched vocal sample and a great groove.
It is always a smashing pleasure to get one’s hand on a coherent
package in which all the tracks are that good. Stil vor Talent did big
with this EP. Every deejay or bootyshaker should definitely not miss
this one !
